East Elementary School’s inaugural FUN RUN is right around the corner! The official program kicks off with a pep rally during school on October 10. And the Fun Run takes place on October 19, also during school hours. We’ve heard from so many friends in other school communities that this is a great fundraiser that builds tremendous school spirit, while keeping the kids active and healthy. We can’t wait to get started!

Pledging is NOW OPEN! You can now log into funrun.com to get a head start on registering your student(s), checking out the awesome character-building videos, and making pledges to help us reach our goal of $15,000 before we officially start the Boosterthon program next week. Pledge books will be provided on October 10. Stay tuned for more information on fun school community activities that go along with the run.
Why a Fun Run?
The Fun Run builds school and classroom community, but it’s also proven to be a very successful PTO fundraiser because it taps into the wider network – friends, family, neighbors – to help us bring enrichment programs and materials to East. If we can achieve the success that our neighbors have achieved in Stoughton and Norwood, then we wont need to run as many small fundraisers each year. This alleviates the burden on parent volunteers and limits how many times we have to ask for donations. If you want to learn more about Boosterthon Fun Run’s watch this video.
If you are interested in learning more about the Fun Run please come to our PTO Meeting Tuesday, October 9 at 7 pm in the East Cafeteria. Free babysitting is provided – the kids do fun art and games in the school, while we meet.
Thank you so much for your help! This will be a great time!
